What makes Pembroke Pembroke?

Are you the type who knows a business opportunity when you see one? Can you lead a team of people? Do you enjoy networking and negotiating? Do you envision developing and growing a business? Are you a visionary who can take charge and take a risk? If this describes you, Pembroke’s entrepreneurial MBA is right for you. The University of North Carolina at Pembroke offers a unique MBA program for students who want a personal, entrepreneurial approach to earning an MBA degree.

Whether you already have a background in business or would like to get an MBA to complement another area of expertise, UNCP offers a program to fit your goals. MBA Interim Director Mr. Donald Soucy is heading a curriculum that prepares students to form their own businesses or to take leadership roles in new corporate ventures. The graduate faculty will teach you the business and leadership skills to grow a successful business. We will instruct you in franchising, IPOs, LBOs, venture capital and financing, and legal issues that affect business. We will discuss asset management, how to write a business plan, buy a business, and how to take an invention to market. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, we will develop your management skills to become a success.

MBA Full-Time Program

You can earn your MBA through our new full-time day program. This program is structured to appeal to those just finishing undergraduate degrees or who have work experience and want to further their career potential. In addition to fundamental business courses, students may focus on a "hands-on" MBA internship to apply their learning to develop strategies and solve real business problems; or a research apprenticeship culminating in a publishable document that will accelerate career growth. Qualified students with an undergraduate business degree can complete their MBA in as little as 18 months.

MBA Part-Time Program

Established professionals wanting to advance their careers and earning potential with a higher degree can do so through the part-time, evening MBA program. Besides challenging students’ decision-making ability, improving their oral and written communication skills, and providing computer training, the program offers an entrepreneurial approach to learning. UNCP graduates are prepared to lead a new venture or continue to grow in their current career. Classes are small, allowing for effective faculty-student interaction and personal enrichment. Classes meet from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the UNCP campus. You do not have to leave the area to earn a high-quality, cost effective MBA.
